About the Silver Spur

The Silver Spur specializes in custom jewelry design offering original pieces in a variety of metals and stones. The artist, Sarah Buckles, creates her well known two-toned effect by combining both sterling silver and white gold with 14 or 18 karat yellow gold.

Today, Sarah has been accompanied by her daughter, Brett, who is beginning to work with her. Brett grew up in Steamboat with her twin brother, Brandon. Brett was a member of the US Ski Team and graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism-News/Editing. When she’s not making jewelry or freelance writing, Brett enjoys riding her horse, mountain biking and skiing.

History of The Silver Spur

The Silver Spur Gallery has been located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for over thirty years. The owner and artist, Sarah Buckles, is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Studio major in jewelry. Sarah is a Colorado native with a rich western background. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horses and competing in rodeo. Her lifestyle heavily influences her jewelry designs.

Featured on the website are just a few of Sarah’s popular designs as well as examples of her growing line of Elk Tooth jewelry. Some of the best elk hunting in the country is located right here in Northwest Colorado. Custom Jewelry

Sarah also creates a wide range of more traditional jewelry designs using precious stones and pearls. Her pieces have western flair with a great deal of signature rope design.
